What would I do if I could time travel? I’ll admit, it’s a pretty weighted question to ask considering the peculiar and historical element of prejudice, racism, and general hatred of black people however; after some consideration, I decided that I would celebrate accomplishments, record important moments and untold stories, and reclaim lost time. This question has informed all of my work, and I myself have become a time traveler, traversing this infinite existence one day at a time, recording my findings through illustration and design and serving as a griot through visual media. Ultimately, My work sets out to record the transformative yet simple virtues of life while borrowing attributes of lore to create previously unimagined, liberated and self-defined depictions of black people.
